Plant biomass allocation is believed to be largely influenced by plant functional traits and by the climatic conditions in which plants grow. This study explores whether changes in plant functional traits and in climatic conditions from one year to another may explain the temporal variation of aboveground biomass allocation in an evergreen deciduous woodland. A total of 28,000 plants from 8 orders and 12 families were collected from two forest plots in the Jura Mountains, between 2013 and 2017. Biomass allocation was analysed at both the plant (intra-annual) and the species (interspecific) level. We used principal component analysis (PCA) to compare the functional traits of individual species. We further focused on biomass allocation of the eight most abundant species. PCA showed that two principal components explained 83% of the observed variance in species traits. First, we found a positive effect of photosynthetic traits on biomass allocation at the intra-annual level. Second, we found a negative effect of plant height on biomass allocation. Intraspecific biomass allocation was mainly influenced by functional traits of the next generation, i.e. size and production. Species traits explained a positive effect on interspecific biomass allocation at the intra-annual level, and a negative effect on interspecific biomass allocation at the species level. Interspecific biomass allocation was positively affected by the temperature at the end of the growing season. We found no significant effect of precipitation on biomass allocation in this study. The strong influence of temperature and the capacity of these trees to optimise allocation for biomass production under changing climatic conditions suggest that evergreen deciduous trees have the potential to mitigate climate change.Q: How to limit the use of clone in JavaScript? I am not a JS expert at all, but I have a problem in my work. I have to use clone to make a copy of an element in my code and then modify this copy in a different way, I made this be359ba680
